LABLUE X MUSEE D'ART MODERNE

LABLUE X MUSEE D'ART MODERNE (2023)

On December 7th 2023, in an intimate concert with headphone listening, the musician LaBlue, accompanied on the violin by Serge Hirsch, introduced us to his spacial composition. Seven tracks exclusively crafted as a sonic journey to accompany the visit of the Nicolas de Staël exhibition in partnership with the Museum of Modern Art in Paris.

LaBlue, a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer, is a recent graduate of the Conservatory of Jazz and an artist with the Parisian label Roche Musique.

LaBlue : "I discovered Nicolas de Staël when the project was introduced to me. Being aesthetically and artistically very interested in music connected to imagery, the idea completely appealed to me. Immersing myself in the universe of another artist, with him tied to sight and me to sound, provides an ideal and multi-artistic terrain that seems relevant to narrate. Therefore, I decided to invest myself and research as much as possible into his history and art. Understanding his thoughts, history, perception, and aura. The goal was to transcribe my sensation, my feelings, in contact with his work. I cannot attempt to fully understand Nicolas de Staël, as he alone seems to hold the secret of what he paints. With his numerous directions over the years and his travels, he is a painter who raises many questions about his different phases. The approach was therefore to draw musical inspiration from his various characteristics. Due to time constraints, the short format (5-track EP) was an optimal way to tell a brief but intense story. I intersected his essential elements (matter, landscapes, the fury of painting) to follow his approach in his art, which is to create a painting of sensation, a poetry of image and instinct."
